Come, Thou long-expected Jesus,
Born to set Thy people free;
To release us from sin's terror,
And our rest to find in Thee.

Thou art Israel's consolation,
And the hope of earth, Thou art
Thou art every nation desire
Filling longing hearts with joy.

Thou art born to deliver us
Thou art King, but born as a child
Eternally, to reign in us
Thy gracious Kingdom to bring.

Let Thy own eternal Spirit
