I Will Not Leave You Comfortless
"Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?" - Acts 19:2
VERSE 1
"I will not leave you comfortless,"
But if I go away,
Will send the Holy Comforter,
Your royal Guest for evermore,
Abiding day by day.
CHORUS
Has he come to you, to you, to you?
Has the Comforter come to you?
The Lord will reprove the world of sin,
When the Comforter comes to you.
VERSE 2
Church of the Living God arise
The fullness to receive,
Until the lost in every place,
Shall feel the need of saving grace,
And shall on Christ believe.
CHORUS
Has he come to you, to you, to you?
Has the Comforter come to you?
The Lord will reprove the world of sin,
When the Comforter comes to you.
VERSE 3
God's skies are full of Pentecost,
For you, for me, for all;
Then let us humbly, boldly press,
Our heritage in Christ possess,
That power from heaven may fall.
CHORUS
Has he come to you, to you, to you?
Has the Comforter come to you?
The Lord will reprove the world of sin,
When the Comforter comes to you.
VERSE 4
Then quickly "back to Pentecost,"
That blessed upper room;
And pray the mighty Lord of Hosts
To send on us the Holy Ghost,
And tarry till He come.
CHORUS
Has he come to you, to you, to you?
Has the Comforter come to you?
The Lord will reprove the world of sin,
When the Comforter comes to you.
