Bible Passage: Psalm 150:1-6

Memory Verse: “I will praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works.” Psalm 9:1 (NKJV)

INTRODUCTION

Praise is one of the most powerful expressions of our relationship with God. It is more than just singing songs or lifting our hands in worship; it is the language of gratitude, faith, and love (Psalm 34:2-6). It should not be limited to good times; even in seasons of waiting or pain, praise is an avenue to declare trust; a way of saying, “Lord, I may not understand everything, but I praise You still.” Praise shifts our perception from the weight of life to the wonders of God (Psalm 42:5-6).

OUTLINE

1. Praise Is A Command

2. Other Grounds To Praise God

PRAISE IS A COMMAND

Praise is not a suggestion or a mood-based act; it is a divine command to all creation (Psalm 150:6). Every living being is obligated to praise God because He is the Giver of life (Psalms 150:6; 148:1-5).

Our praise is a demonstration of our obedience and humility to His will and authority (Deuteronomy 10:21). Like David, believers must offer continuous praise to God (Psalm 34:1; Hebrews 13:15). Incessant praise strengthens faith and keeps our focus on God.

OTHER GROUNDS TO PRAISE GOD

God is worthy of praise not only for what He does (Psalm 103:1-5) but for who He is: holy, faithful, good, great, merciful, and just (Psalms 89:1; 145:3).

We praise Him for His blessings such as salvation, protection, provision, healing, and answered prayers (Psalms 84:11; 107:8-9). Praise invites God into our situations. When God is present, chains are broken, and lives are changed (Acts 16:25-26).

CONCLUSION

Let your praise be intentional and heartfelt, not just because of what you have, but because of who God is.
